Summary

Dawn is the nursing Lead for the Insulin Pump Service within the Diabetes Specialism at UHL. Her contribution to the roll out of hybrid closed loop technology in response to the NICE TA has been exemplary in ensuring the safe and effective transition for patients starting hybrid closed loop therapy.

Reason for Nomination

Dawn is an integral part of the insulin pump team. She runs weekly insulin pump starts and exchanges, devising settings and ensuring people living with type one diabetes have a positive experience transitioning from other forms of insulin therapy to hybrid closed loop systems. Dawn is always there to provide support to patients both in the lead up to and throughout their commencement on the technology, and also provides in depth follow-up to ensure optimisation of the kit and most importantly patient satisfaction. She is an incredible support to the wider diabetes specialist team. Her knowledge surrounding diabetes technology is outstanding and she is always willing to assist other member of the team with any technology related queries or concerns.
