Arlene has been practicing hospital pharmacy since 2007. After qualifying she went on to complete a post graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy practice and became a Specialist Dermatology & Allergy Pharmacist in 2013 at Guys and St Thomas’ Foundation Trust within the St Johns Institute of Dermatology.

Arlene has a special interest in psoriasis and immunotherapy, and developed the role of the clinical pharmacist in the severe psoriasis biologics clinic – qualifying as an Independent Prescriber in this field in 2015.

Arlene has taught on the Kings College undergraduate pharmacy programme, Derm Academy programmes and St Johns Clinical Dermatology MSc course. She has presented previously at the National Association of Specialist Phototherapy nurses conference and the British Association of Dermatology Nurses Biologics Network. Arlene is a member of the BAD clinical guideline subgroup and Pharmacist Workstream and contributed to the update of the Guidelines for Biologic therapy in Psoriasis 2020.

Arlene sits on the editorial board for Dermatology in Practice and started a national network for NHS pharmacists working within dermatology across the UK to share expertise and best practice.

Over the last 2 years Arlene has been a member of the steering group and judging panel for the Quality in Care Dermatology Programme.
